What is the safest and most recommended way to get a Bitcoin address / account?
I can see many ways to create a Bitcoin address including downloadable software wallets for both PC and mobiles, web wallets (like bitcoin.com?), hardware wallets which I do not have yet. What is the best way to create a Bitcoin wallet if I do not want to buy a hardware wallet now? Will a Bitcoin account work for both BTC and BCH? Thank you
I just signed up for a Circle account and bought $10 worth of bitcoins to gamble with. The betting site Betmoose requires a Bitcoin address. How do I found out what my bitcoin address is on circle so I could use the money?
Attn Street Performers. Get a bitcoin address, and print the QR code.
April 1st and 2nd (Fri and Sat) I'll be walking around the strip, and Fremont. If you show interest on the first weekend- Random amount (range to be determined) of bitcoin will be sent if you have a smart phone. Or a type of paper wallet if no smartphone. April 8th and 9th (Fri and Sat) I'll walk again. I might have a camera running, or camera man walking for me. $100+ will be split between all the bitcoin addresses seen. Payout on Sunday 9th. QR code must large and visible. 6 inch by 6 inch suggested (fills most of a standard page Text of the address must also be large and readable near the QR code. Along with the bitcoin logo or symbol. Place it near your tip jar, or whatever you use to hide behind when people try to take free pictures. Must be an entertainer (no cardboard signs asking for change). Fremont must be in the circle properly permitted. I'll be walking around 7pm-10pm ish. I'll do the strip one night and Fremont the other I'm thinking Friday Fremont, Saturday Strip. Fri- I'll go El Cortez to Plaza and back. Sat- Encore to Trop. Excalibur to Fashion Show, to Encore. I'll do all the bridges too. I'm open to suggestions, I'm guessing at the times to be able to see most of you. Subject to change.. I don't check this account often, so don't be surprised if I don't say anything for a few days.
If you get a bitcoin address tattoo, I will send bitcoin to that address.
Has to be real, not a temporary one. I am thinking of a QR code but a regular address that incorporates 666 would be pretty cool. I'm not going to send a huge amount of bitcoin, so I hope others will join me.
How to get transaction history for a ledger Bitcoin address
Hey so I'm an Aussie and we've got the mother of all regulations on crypto here. Our federal tax office wants every transaction, from every address, all of the fees, the prices of all tokens involved in AUD at the time of transaction. Etc. Etc. Long story short, I need to get alot of data for my tax agent. And the bit I'm up to, is getting the bitcoin transactions in CSV form, from my ledger. The built in 'export transactions as CSV' feature on ledger live doesn't have enough data to satiate Australian tax regulations. However, looking up the Ethereum wallet addresses listed on ledger live with something like etherscan, does provide me with enough info to export as a CSV. I get a nice list of transactions in and out of that wallet address, fees, times etc. I need the same thing for my Bitcoin addresses. But when I look them up on the public blockchain with something like blockstream, I get this giant list of fractured data, with confirmations and all kinds of unnecessary info, but not the essential stuff, like a transaction history. It's hard to even find the total balance for a single wallet, that I can easily see on ledger live. Does anyone know how to get a nice, linear transaction history from a Bitcoin address, complete with fees, time, hash number etc. So I can give it to the tax man? And for other Aussies out there suffering, if I can tie up this last loose end ill do up a little guide for the rest of us trying to get through this shit
Someone hacked a shit ton of twitter accounts and posted a bitcoin address asking people to send to get double that bitcoin
Who ever did it hacked loads of verified twitters and posted a message asking people to send bitcoin to a specific address, and that who ever did, would get sent back double that amount. And loads of people fell for it. The hackers have made around $10 million so far lmao
ILPT Request: How can a NY resident get an out of state address and ID to buy bitcoin and get cheaper car insurance.
I live in NY and I'm really just sick and tired of the restrictions in buying bitcoin and the outrageous car insurance premiums. As of right now, NY residents can only buy bitcoin from Gemini and Coinbase but I've been banned from both platforms. Is there any service one can pay a small fee in order to get an out of state address and authentic ID card in order to buy bitcoin with other exchanges? I drive a 2005 car, have the bare minimum liability insurance and I make sure to pay 6 months ahead to save some 10% but I still pay $800 every 6 months despite having a clean driving record and 800+ credit score. I plan to buy a new car soon but I need an out of state address to get a cheaper insurance rate. Please help.
So I get a fairly constant stream of people who send me messages about situations where they have sent BCH to a Bitcoin address (Probably 3/4 of the instances of this are when people use address converters) If you didn't send it to a segwit address, recovery is quite straight forward.
In simple terms, a Bitcoin address is a public identifier for your Bitcoin wallet, acting as a virtual location where the cryptocurrency can be sent. When you create a Bitcoin wallet, you receive a public key and a private key. The private key proves you’re the owner of the wallet in question; the public key is used to receive funds. A valid Bitcoin address is necessary because if you get this wrong, your bitcoins will be lost. If you send bitcoins to an invalid address, the bitcoins will be lost in cyberspace or will remain with the sender. To help cut down on confusion a new BCH address format was introduced called the "cash address" format (or cashaddr for short). All BCH addresses using the new "cash address" format, will start with either the letter "q" or "p" (If providing an address to receive Bitcoin Cash (BCH), we highly recommend that you provide a BCH in the "cash ...
